12-week programmes supporting young people at risk

Our Why
Why we chose Roadworks Media
Strong businesses do more than deliver exceptional projects. They help shape the communities around them. Roadworks Media works with young people from underprivileged areas who may be at risk of gang involvement, knife crime or falling into negative pathways. Through mentoring, creative media training and real-world skills, the programme provides structure, confidence and genuine opportunities for a different future.
"I grew up in the environments where Roadworks Media delivers its programmes, so I've seen first-hand the challenges vulnerable young people face. They're doing real work to give them confidence, skills and a positive direction. It's personal to me, and something Southern Oak is proud to support."

Transparency and trust
Trust is essential. For clarity and accountability, Southern Oak does not retain charitable funds. Sponsorship payments and donations are made directly via Crowd Funder to Roadworks Media.
Southern Oak acts as the campaign partner, promoting the work and supporting sponsors. Contributions go directly to Roadworks Media to ensure maximum transparency.
Real Impact
Real Stories. Real Impact. Real Change.
This is what impact looks like on the ground.
In just a few moments, this video captures the energy, engagement and real connection being built with young people through Roadworks Media CIC. It's not just activity, it's intervention, creating a space where young people feel seen, supported and given a positive direction. Through structured programmes like this, young people are stepping away from risk and towards opportunity, guided by mentors who understand their journey and are committed to helping them move forward.
This is exactly why the Southern Oak Community Fund exists. To support work like this and help more young people access the same opportunities to grow, develop and thrive.

More about Southern Oak
Who's behind the Community Fund?
The oak frame specialists giving back, and what makes us different.
Who are Southern Oak?
Southern Oak is a UK-based designer, maker and installer of bespoke oak framed buildings. From our workshop we hand-cut green oak garages, garden rooms, gazebos, porches, oak framed extensions and Heritage Solar™ carports, delivering traditional timber framing to homes across England, Wales and Scotland.
What makes Southern Oak different?
Every frame is cut and jointed by hand using traditional mortise and tenon joinery, no metal brackets, no shortcuts. We design each building around your home and plot, handle planning and building regulations in-house, and back our work with a 100+ year design life. It's heritage craft, delivered with modern project management.
